About the Area

The house is situated in the small sheltered farming village of Middleton. No car is needed to reach any of the three immediate bays. A ten minute walk along the road brings you to the cliffs above the world-famous beautiful wind-swept 5 km stretch of Rhossili Bay and Worm’s Head. Nearer to the cottage are footpaths leading to Mewslade and Fall Bays. All three bays are beloved by surfers and families looking for a beach holiday away from the crowds. The circular walk from the cottage around the cliffs from Mewslade to Rhossili and back, about 5km, is stunning.

Rightly designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Gower Peninsula attracts people from all over the UK and further afield. Walkers, surfers, families looking for endless sand, rock pools and caves, paragliders, botanists, canoeists, cyclists and, of course, those just wanting a peaceful holiday or romantic getaway all enjoy spending time here.

The National Trust owns most of the coastline which ensures its preservation and upkeep. Here at the end of the Peninsula the terrain is more rugged. Middleton and Rhossili join as one village.

Riverside, my lovely family home, is situated in superb surroundings with Rhossili Down rising to the north on one side and within a ten minute walk of the seashore at Mewslade, Fall and Rhossili Bays with their stunning beaches and rugged cliffs.
